Customer Contracts – what’s the point?

I had an Epiphany about sales contracts the other day when in negotiations with a new supplier that I want to use. I won’t name the company – but let’s assume that I am dealing with your company as I am sure that most companies (including my own) do what this supplier did.

The best sales advice I can give you: authentic selling

This is a great question from Andy and the short answer is “Yes!”
The question then becomes “Why do you partake of your products?”
For those of you who don’t know – my company designs and installs thermal spas (saunas, steam baths, mud baths, snow cabins etc). So you can immediately see why I partake in the use of my products. Who wouldn’t? I don’t often hear people saying, “Arrr, spit. Gotta use that sauna again. What a nightmare!”
But I think there is a deeper issue involved in all of this – and it is that old fashioned word authenticity.
Fundamental Attribution Error? What you see is often not what you get!

I’m a believer in Blink and other books that encourage your intuitive nature to pick up who you are working with and make decisions based on your gut. In fact most of my business life I’ve worked from an entrepreneurial spirit seated in this part of me. It’s led me to some success, and some dynamic failures!
Without this spirit I doubt I would have got far.

“Wow Finch, when you crash, you really crash spectacularly”

This is what a good friend said to me once.
Might sound a little harsh but anyone who knows me knows I like to be told it straight. Truth is he was right – I did spectacularly crash one summer, during the previous 6 months my wife was so ill she was bedridden for a time, the business had gone through a long, uncertain period that had pushed us to the brink, the band I’d been in for 10 years came to an end and we’d had real problems selling our house after a major flood.

Is this the death of Tradeshow Exhibitions?

I have taken the day off today to visit The Outdoor Show at the NEC. My wife sent me a text asking me if I was enjoying my (rare) day off, to which I replied: “I am enjoying myself – but the show is pants.”
